Description
Noctua NA-FH1 FAN HUB
The NA-FH1 is a high-quality, smartly-protected 8 channel PWM fan hub that allows up to eight PWM fans to be run and controlled simultaneously via a single PWM motherboard fan header or stand-alone controllers such as the optional NA-FC1. Non-PWM fans can be controlled by adjusting the input voltage. Supporting both 12V and 5V fans with 4-pin PWM and 3-pin connectors, the NA-FH1 is highly flexible and suitable both for PC environments and other 12V- or 5V-based applications. It can be powered either via its S-ATA input (for 12V fans, up to 54W) or 4-pin PWM input (for 5V and 12V fans, up to 24W), both of which are protected against overcurrent with a self-resetting fuse for maximum safety even in case of short-circuits on the connected devices or cables. The two ports can also be used concurrently with the device, automatically taking power via S-ATA and exchanging RPM and PWM signals via the 4-pin interface. Status LEDs allow for easy monitoring and thanks to its magnetic fixture, installing the NA-FH1 inside a PC case or on any other steel surface is a breeze. Topped off with CE, UKCA and UL certifications, full compliance with all applicable safety standards as well as Noctua’s 6-year manufacturer’s warranty, the NA-FH1 is a safe, dependable premium choice for powering and controlling up to eight fans.
Caution: Do not place directly on hard disk drives, keep at least 5cm distance. When powering via the 4-pin input from a PC motherboard, please check your motherboard manual for the maximum current of the fan header and make sure not to exceed it.
Up to 54W via S-ATA and 24W via 4-pin
When powered via it’s S-ATA interface (for 12V fans only), the NA-FH1 can run fans with a combined power draw of up to 54W. When using the 4-pin PWM input only (for 5V or 12V fans), the maximum power draw can go as high as 24W.
Controlling high-power fans safely
If both its S-ATA and 4-pin input ports are connected, the NA-FH1 will automatically draw power via S-ATA and use the 4-pin port for PWM control and RPM monitoring only. This way, it is possible to control fans with high power consumption safely without risking damage to the motherboard.
RPM and status monitoring
The NA-FH1 transmits the RPM speed signal of the fan connected to the first port to the motherboard for speed monitoring. For additional watchdog functionality, all ports feature status LEDs that light up if an RPM signal is being received and go off if the fan stops or fails.
Compatible with 4-pin PWM and 3-pin fans
While only 4-pin PWM fans can be controlled via PWM, the NA-FH1’s keyed output connectors are also compatible with 3-pin fans, so it can also be used to run multiple 3-pin fans from a single power source and to adjust their speed simultaneously by reducing the input voltage.
Suitable for 12V and 5V fans
Supporting both 12V and 5V (4-pin power input only) operation, the NA-FH1 not only works great with 12V PC fans, but is also an elegant solution for running multiple Noctua 5V fans, many of which include USB adaptor cables that can be used to connect the NA-FH1 to mobile phone power supplies or power banks.
Ideal combination with optional NA-FC1 fan controller
The NA-FH1 is ideal for controlling multiple PWM fans using the optional NA-FC1 controller. Thanks to a reverse-power design on the 4-pin input of the NA-FH1, the NA-FC1 can control the connected fans even if the hub is powered via its S-ATA interface only and if there is no other connection or input on the 4-pin interface.
Easy installation with magnets
The NA-FH1 features four strong neodymium magnets on the rear side, which allows it to simply snap into place on any magnetic surface such as inside steel PC cases. On non-magnetic surfaces such as aluminum PC cases, the flat rear side of the device makes it possible to easily fix it with double-sided tape or velcro tape.
30cm input cable included
The NA-FH1 is shipped with a 30cm NA-EC1 input cable to connect it to motherboard PWM fan headers. For applications that require further extending the input cable or extending the output cables to the fans, Noctua offers the NA-SEC1 (30cm) and NA-SEC3 (60cm) cable sets.
Overcurrent and short-circuit protection with safety fuses
Especially when drawing power from a PC power supply via S-ATA connectors, short-circuits on the connected cables or devices can cause hazardous situations such as cable fires. For extra safety, the NA-FH1 has auto-resetting fuses both on the S-ATA and on the 4-pin input so that it can automatically shut down in case of overcurrent or short-circuits on one of the connected devices or cables.
Safety certifications
Unlike many cheap fan hubs, the NA-FH1 has been carefully tested for product safety and EMC compliance. Carrying CE, UKCA and UL certifications and meeting all applicable standards (EN 62368-1, EN 55035, EN 55032, UL-507), it is a safe, quality device through and through.
6-year manufacturer’s warranty
Noctua products are renowned for their impeccable quality and outstanding longevity. Like Noctua’s fans and heatsinks, the NA-FH1 is a robust, dependable product that has been carefully engineered to stand the test of time.
